DELIVERY, RETURNS AND PRIVACY POLICIES

Terms & Conditions

1. Detailed description of goods and/or services

Rika Haasbroek Ceramics is a small business in the Ceramics industry that sell bespoke, handmade porcelain and stoneware pieces.

2. Delivery policy

Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 1-3 working days and handed to the courier company for delivery.  The client will receive the tracking number via email as soon as it has been collected by the courier company and delivery should be within 2-3 days of receiving a tracking number.

3. Return and Refunds policy

The provision of goods by Rika Haasbroek Ceramics is subject to availability at the time of sale.

Returns & Refunds

We do not accept any returns or exchange that are not related to breakages or quality upon delivery. Our policy is only valid for 1 day - the day of delivery when the parcel were received by the client. Unfortunately we can't offer a refund or exchange thereafter. 

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to return it for this reason please send us an email to info@rikahaasbroekceramics.co.za and we will advise the process to return item/s.

Rika Haasbroek Ceramics will refund the client in full within 7 working days in cases of unavailability due a online stock error. 

WORKSHOPS

If you have registered for one of our workshops, and you are no longer able to attend, our CANCELLATION POLICY is as follows:

3.1 The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place (in which they are registered) at any time, and at no extra charge;

3.2  If notice of cancellation is received 8 days or less from the scheduled starting date, no refund will be offered;

3.3 If notice of cancellation is received 9-15 days  from the scheduled starting date, a 50% refund will be offered;

3.4 If notice of cancellation is received 16 days or more from the scheduled starting date, an 80% refund will be offered as a 20% handling fee will be levied;

3.5 In the unlikely situation that the event is cancelled, all confirmed participants will be notified immediately and receive a full refund;

3.6 There is no refund or credit for “no-shows” on the day of the event.

4. Bespoke orders and product waiver

An 80% deposit is required in order for work to commence. There is a 4-8 week lead time depending on the order size and volume of work. The balance is payable upon completion of work and before shipment.

All sizes are approximate as clay shrinks by between 10% and 12% as it dries, and then again during the 3 phase firings. Measurements are carried out as carefully as possible, but cannot be guaranteed.

Although the characteristic of the item will remain the same, please note that items with combination glazes will always differ slightly in light or darkness of the item depicted in the photo as each item is made by hand.

Cancellations of orders by the client will attract a 10% administration fee. 

Bespoke pieces are non-refundable as it cannot be resold.

5. Payment Methods

Payment may be made via EFT, Visa and MasterCard (through the YOCO link provided).

Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with an encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

6. Customer Privacy policy

Rika Haasbroek Ceramics shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. This serves to confirm that we are in compliance with the new South African data protection legislation (Protection Of Personal Information Act "POPIA"), officially introduced on 1 July 2020 and effective on 30 June 2021. We regularly distribute information regarding exhibitions, opportunities, updates and news of our ceramic events, workshops, markets and newsletters. If you elect not to receive any further information from us please send us an email to info@rikahaasbroekceramics.co.za and we will delete your name from our distribution list and, going forward you will no longer receive notifications from us.  

What we do with your information 

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser type and version . Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

Consent

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason and transaction only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, at anytime, by contacting us at info@rikahaasbroekceramics.co.za 

Disclosure 

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Rika Haasbroek Ceramics chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi.

You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time at this page.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to our website or the Service following the posting of any changes to these Terms of Service constitutes acceptance of those changes.
